The 13th Berlin Biennale

I’m thrilled to be part of “passing the fugitive on", the 13th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, curated by Zasha Colah with assistant curator Valentina Viviani. Opening June 13 (press), running June 14–Sept 14, across four Berlin venues: KW Institute, Sophiensæle, Hamburger Bahnhof, and the former Courthouse on Lehrter Straße.
From my series Girls, Making Paper Balloon Bombs, I’m presenting a work at KW in kimono silk depicting the 1938 cherry blossoms painted to mark the first anniversary of the Tripartite Anti‑Comintern Pact—when the Takarazuka Revue toured Nazi Germany.
