While traveling in reverse from her death to birth, I kept my diary.

Spring exactly one year ago
The same month my father turned eighty years old
I set out on a journey on my own
There were two diaries in my hand
One by Anne Frank, whhen she was thirteen to fifteen years old
Another left by my father, who wrote a diary from when he was sixteen to seventeen years old
And now I start my own diary in a brand new notebook
Dear Anne Frank, who might have reached her eightieth birthday in June of that year
